June Democratic Primary Recap

With the Democratic National Convention set to begin less than three weeks from now, it seems like a good time to recap the results of the June 23 election, which, in addition to the Presidential primary, included delegates to the convention, and the female member of the Democratic State Committee for the 124th Assembly District.

Joseph R. Biden won the Chemung County primary with 74.6% of the vote; Bernie Sanders came in second with 13.8% of the county vote.

Deborah L. Lynch was elected to be the female member of the Democratic State Committee for the 124th Assembly District.

The top 10 Chemung County vote earners for delegates to the Democratic National Convention are as follows (ranked by number of votes, followed by candidate pledged to):

Hilda T. Lando – Joseph R. Biden

Margie T. Lawlor – Joseph R. Biden

Barbara M. Banko – Joseph R. Biden

Shawn D. Logan – Joseph R. Biden

Joseph R. Welch – Joseph R. Biden
